Somerville-based environmental product development company, now known as Cambrian Innovation™, will address the Senate Small Business and Entrepreneurship Committee on February 17
Cambridge, MA (Feb. 16, 2011) – Cambrian Innovation™ (Cambrian), formerly IntAct Labs LLC, is pleased to announce its formal name change today. The Somerville-based company, founded in 2006, is an environmental product development company focused on moving revolutionary scientific discoveries – especially those in the renewable technology sector – from the bench to market. Cambrian’s co-founder and CEO, Dr. Matthew Silver, has been asked by Senator Mary L. Landrieu (D) to testify before the Senate Small Business and Entrepreneurship Committee. The hearing on Thursday, February 17 will focus on pending Small Business Innovation Research legislation, and the ways in which government can improve funding mechanisms for early stage innovation.

Silver’s testimony follows a period of marked growth for the company. In 2009, Cambrian, then known as IntAct Labs LLC, won the top Ignite Clean Energy prize awarded by the MIT Enterprise Forum. Resulting from their win, Cambrian was awarded over $100k in cash prizes, legal services, and real estate consulting. Additionally in 2009, the company was nominated to be a TiE50 Most Innovative Cleantech Company in the U.S. This recognition has allowed Cambrian to move forward with their vision to evolve and develop sustainable technology.
