Dr. Justin Buck, Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer at Cambrian Innovation, spoke last week at a sustainability focused Engineering Forum in Sonoma, California. Dr. Buck presented Cambrian’s flagship product, EcoVolt Bioelectric Wastewater Treatment system, as an example of an industrial engineering solution to critical resource issues.
EcoVolt helps the food and beverage industry, primarily wineries, breweries and dairies, become more sustainable and save money by generating renewable natural gas and clean water from wastewater streams. This gas can be converted into heat and electricity, turning wastewater treatment from an energy drain to an energy gain, and reducing a typical winery’s carbon footprint by over 4lbs per case.
As co-founder and CTO of Cambrian Innovation, Dr. Buck leads Cambrian Innovation’s engineering and R&D efforts with particular focus on scaling up wastewater and sensor technologies.
